Nobody gets left behind
In the UK
MUSE CIO is a dynamic charity based in Salisbury. It was established to promote social inclusion and to support individuals and groups to integrate into their local community, school and neighbourhood.
We work with other grassroots organisations in the community to deliver regular activities that promote social inclusion, wellbeing and the relief of need. We work with local and national government to ensure that our work is both joined up and accessible.
From 2020 we have witnessed tumultuous events throughout the world, including the COVID pandemic and the conflicts and upheaval in Ukraine, Afghanistan, Syria, the Middle East and Africa, which have had a huge and irreversible impact on society and the economy at both local and national levels. Playing an active role in the community, the MUSE team of therapists, musicians, teachers, software developers and volunteers is supporting families and assisting their integration into new communities in the UK.
Jane Ebel – started her career in Russia in 1986, when she moved to Moscow to sell mini computers. She soon side-stepped into the voluntary sector and worked on a variety of health and social care projects in Moscow, the Urals and in neighbouring countries, including Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Georgia, Armenia and the Baltic States. Between 2009 and 2020, Jane worked in Moldova, in the field of disability, early years inclusive education and communication through music. In 2017 she organised the first Marathon4All with Moldovan colleagues and was awarded an MBE for her work on disability in Moldova.
Since 2020, Jane has worked in the community in Salisbury developing services for dementia and supporting people who feel isolated and excluded. Since 2022 Jane has worked with Ukrainian families, their British host families and with the expanding Afghan community fleeing the Taliban and arriving into Wiltshire through British Government programmes. As conflicts continue across the world, this model of grass roots support is expanding rapidly.
